I find myself
Stopping this morning
Over and over
Just for a moment or two
Closing my eyes
Resting my chin
And the heaviness of my heart
And soul
On my Hands
Where my fingers are interlaced
Into a shelf
In these frequently occurring moments
There is a stillness
That falls upon me
It is the fulfillment of a longing
That has been bubbling and brewing
Since horrible news of death and despair
Came to me last week
News I wanted to push away
Because I knew that
For me too
There are moments
When it feels that the breaking point
Is closer than I want to admit
The stillness has brought with it
Peace
And I ponder if you are breaking too
I am praying for your stillness
