Have we reached
A moment in time
In this age
In this world
When we no longer talk to each other
When we no longer know what to say
When we cannot utter
A kind word
An encouraging word
A hopeful word
To each other or to the world
Without some cost
Or because of some terrible cost
It seems so silly
That we can’t or don’t or won’t
offer kind or hopeful or loving words
We were made to care and love each other
All people
And speak words of kindness or encouragement or hope
To each other, to all people
There are so many things
My heart could say
To your heart
With just one gaze
From my eyes to yours
I hope that you would know
That you would see
That you are loved and cherished
Unconditionally
Astonishingly
Abundantly
Deeply
Unceasingly
Eternally
I hope that
You can know this love
In this moment, sure and certain.
Without doubt
Without question
Just as these purple and white tulips
Know it is spring
Just as they know to nod in the breeze
Just as they know that
It is enough to bloom
For no other
Than the Holy One
Who delights in them
Who designs them as a gift of love for all who see them

I hope
That wherever you are
In this world
At this moment
That you too are gazing at tulips
Purple and white
And I hope
That somehow
Their blossoms and their color
Speak to your heart
And let you know
That you are beloved.

For all those who need to know and feel that they are beloved.
Lovely.
