  1. I’ve always appreciated dandelions. At Lake Washington, where I lived for 35 years, the soil was clay, and only the hardiest plants (usually called weeds) would thrive. I figured if it was green, it made a great lawn for the little bit of flat space we had on our hillside. But I especially loved the dandelions.
